Page Sideline Cheer Team Expectations

Page Sideline Cheer Team Expectations
- All school rules will be enforced according to the Page Handbook.
- Girls are expected to attend 100% of competitions and practices
- If you are to miss practice, it is expected you notify coaching staff at least 24 hrs before practice (exceptions made in the case of emergencies). Not doing so will result in unexcused absence. Unexcused absences could result in losing your spot in a round or dismissal of the team.
- Excused absences will not affect mat time if conditioning is made up before the next competition. Excused absences include: court appointments, specialist appointments, and other pre-arranged absences made with coaching staff.
- Tardiness will not be tolerated, girls must be ready to start on time. Not arriving on time, and habitual tardiness will be dealt with extra conditioning or loss of spot in a round. We suggest making a habit of showing up 10-15 minutes early so you’re ready to go.
- Cell phone use is not tolerated at practice, if a cell phone is seen being used during practice the coaches will bring in a cell phone box. We have 2 hours together and want to make the most of it, in case of an emergency the coaches can be reached with provided contact information.
- All gross misconduct will be dealt with on an individual basis with coaching staff. Gross misconduct includes all actions which are detrimental to athletes safety, team morale, or respect to school and sports related staff.
- Page cheerleading has a zero tolerance policy. Any use of a controlled substance (including but not limited to: a vape, weed pen, alcohol) is not tolerated and will result in dismissal from the team.
- All non school equipment must be shown to coaching staff for pre-approval (braces, wraps, etc.)
- Team unity and pride are very important to the Page coaching staff. The coaching staff will make an extreme effort to have athletes show good sportsmanship before, during, and after competitions. Athletes must realize they respect their school, community, and team at all times during the season.
- No new piercings may be acquired during the season. All piercings must be taken out prior to practice and competitions.
- Nail polish and fake nails are prohibited during competition season. Nails with tips become a safety hazard to others especially during stunting.
