Congrats to Sophia Weiland!

Page 7th grade wrestler Sophia Weiland placed 1st at the Michigan Youth Wrestling Association state championship tournament last week.  This earned her an entry into the NUWAY National Tournament (National  United Wrestling Association for Youth) in mid-April. Hooray for Sophia!

Wrestling practice and weigh-in FRI March 13th

Wrestling families,
Practice this FRIDAY March 13th will take place at Lamphere High School from 3:30 - 5 pm. There WILL be a bus taking the team over to LHS but players MUST get a ride home from Lamphere High School at 5 pm.

Any student that has paid to attend the St. Patrick's Day dance will be excused BUT needs to see Coach O sometime before Friday to arrange a weigh-in at Page before the dance. Any wrestler that does NOT weigh in on Friday will NOT be allowed to wrestle in the tournament on Saturday

Page Wrestling Conditioning starts MON Feb 2nd

Attention any Page student interested in wrestling:

There will be conditioning next week (Feb. 2 thru Feb. 6th) after school from 3:15 - 4:30 to get in shape for the upcoming season. It is optional but highly encouraged! In order to participate, you MUST have a completed physical either uploaded onto Big Teams OR brought to your coaches next week. You will NOT be able to participate in this event until you have one on file. 

 

There will also be a team meeting on FRI Feb. 6th in the cafeteria at 4:30 pm after conditioning. If you have any questions, please reach out to Coach Orlando Smith (orlando.smith@lamphereschools.org).

Page Wrestling Team Expectations

 

 

1. Give 100% EffortEvery Practice, Every Match

  • Show up ready to work.
  • Push yourself even when it gets tough.
  • Effort matters more than talent - bring your best every day!

 

2. Show Up On Time and Be Prepared

  • Arrive when you’re supposed to, not when you feel like it.
  • Have your gear, water, shoes, headgear, and mind ready.
  • Communicate with coaches if you’re sick or unable to attend.

 

3. Encourage OthersLift Your Team Up

  • Support your teammates during drills, conditioning, and competitions.
  • Celebrate their wins and help them through their losses.
  • Be the positive energy you want around you.

 

4. Encourage YourselfBuild Mental Strength

  • Believe you can improve, even on hard days.
  • Don’t talk down to yourself; focus on getting better.
  • Stay mentally tough and bounce back from mistakes.

 

5. Show Respect to Everyone

  • Respect your coaches by listening, following directions, and trusting their leadership.
  • Respect your teammates by working hard in drills, not messing around, and being a good partner.
  • Respect opponents - shake hands, wrestle clean, and understand they’re working hard too.
