Page Softball Team Expectations
Not all circumstances can be addressed, therefore, many decisions are at coaches’ discretion and made for the best of the team.
Expectations:
1. Be a class act on and off the field.
2. Do what is right, be honest, showing integrity in all you do.
3. Let your trademarks be teamwork, sportsmanship, heart and hustle.
4. Respect the game, yourself and others.
5. Attend all practices and games. Make your team your priority.
6. Make a commitment to excellence on the field and in the classroom.
7. Have a positive attitude, run everywhere on the field, hustle, hustle, hustle.
8. Leave it better than you found it.
9. Have a team-centered mindset. We before me.
10. Relentlessly pursue success.
Softball season is a hectic season. Eat well, get plenty of sleep, drink plenty of water, focus on your grades, and stay healthy!
Practices:
Practice is Monday through Friday from 3:45-5:30. Please plan to leave school and come back, UNLESS you are enrolled in After-School Resource. Please attempt to attend ALL practices. If for any reason a practice needs to be canceled I will let the team know ASAP.
Athletes must notify the coach as soon as possible if they cannot be at practice or at a game. Coach can be contacted by email at laura.young@lamphereschools.org or by cell at (248) 224-1608.
Equipment:
Once equipment has been checked out, the athlete is responsible for its care and maintenance. School issued uniforms and equipment must be turned in at the end of the season.
Cleats (no metal ones allowed) should be worn to play and practice in, but not inside any school building. Tennis shoes should be worn anytime we practice indoors.
Game Behavior:
Disrespect to coaches, officials, teammates, fans, etc. will not be tolerated. This type of classless behavior is unacceptable and will be dealt with swiftly and severely. No player will argue any calls by an umpire or say anything derogatory to anyone, period. No trash talking or taunting. No exceptions. Let actions speak for themselves.
Players are to remain in the dugout unless otherwise directed.
Academics:
You are student athletes, emphasis on the student. I stress this with my own children that academics must always come before sports.
If your grades are slipping at any time during the year, notify your coach and we will try to get help for you.
Overall softball is a game and it should be fun! If you are not having fun something is missing. I look forward to getting to know you and helping you to develop your love and skills for the game!
