Dear Page Middle School Families,
In an effort to continuously improve the experiences we offer our school community, we would like to remind you of our district policy regarding students attending after-school sporting and extracurricular events, like robotics competitions and theater performances.
In working to provide a secure environment for all students and spectators, we will continue our expectation for students who attend after-school sporting and extracurricular events to be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event. This practice has been in place at Lamphere High School so we are aiming for consistency, and it is a common practice across most middle schools in the area. While our school staff and event organizers are dedicated to creating a positive and enriching experience for all participants, we believe that having an adult present will be beneficial for supervision reasons and will create a safer, more enjoyable experience for all spectators and guests.
In addition, all spectators (families, fans, etc.) are expected to remain in the gym/stands/designated spectator area near the outdoor fields, with the exception of needing to use the closest water and bathroom facilities. Loitering in the hallways or other non-sanctioned areas is prohibited.
Cheering and celebratory actions should be positive. Please remember that these are Middle School athletes, coaches, and officials who we assume are working to the best of their abilities in growing within the instruction and the fundamentals of the sport, and we want to continue to foster a welcoming environment.
All students will have received information about this new expectation, and has been planned purposefully so that everyone has a common understanding moving forward.
We value your partnership in creating a safe and positive environment for all of our students.
Your partners in education,
Jen Creamer, Principal
Marni Glowacki, Assistant Principal
