Track Practice Schedule

Page Middle School Track Team Point System

This system aims to encourage punctuality, respect, communication, and positive conduct among team members. Each athlete begins the season with 30 points. Points will be deducted for infractions in the following categories:

• Late to Practice:
  • Being late to practice will result in a deduction of 5 points.
  • This rule emphasizes the importance of respecting the team's schedule and the coach's time.

• Failure to Comply:
  • Failure to comply with coach's instructions or team rules will result in a deduction of 5 points.
  • This ensures that athletes follow directions and maintain discipline during practice and events.

• Absence Without Communication:
  • Absence from practice or an event without prior communication to the coach will result in a deduction of 10 points.
  • This rule stresses the importance of responsible communication and planning.

• Fighting and/or Discriminatory/Bully Behavior:
  • Any involvement in fighting or discriminatory/bully behavior will result in immediate removal from the team.
  • This rule establishes a zero-tolerance policy for behaviors that create a hostile or unsafe environment.

Explanation and Rationale:

• Starting with 30 points: This provides a buffer, allowing for minor slip-ups while still holding athletes accountable.
• Point deductions: The point deductions are designed to reflect the severity of the infraction. Lack of communication regarding absence is punished more severely than lateness, as it disrupts planning and team coordination.
• Zero-tolerance for harmful behavior: Fighting and discriminatory/bully behavior are deemed unacceptable and result in immediate removal because they compromise the team's integrity and safety.
• Goal: The overall goal of this point system is to foster a positive and productive team environment, where athletes are responsible, respectful, and communicative.

Attention Track Families,

Hansons Running Store, located at 3407 S. Rochester Rd in Royal Oak, is offering 20% off most regularly priced items in the store for Page Track team members on Friday, April 11th, from 3pm until the store closes at 8pm.  Students/Parents just need to inform the store clerk that they are athletes from Page Middle School.
