The Page Panthers football team suffered a tough road loss to Clintondale Middle School, 22-6, bringing their season record to 2 wins and 1 loss.
The team was led by team game captains Adam Lange, Matthew Gilmartin, Josh Cornwell, and Brycen Potter.
Karter Hayden made his first start at quarterback, helping guide the panthers offense. The Panthers' touchdown came on a 7-yard Jet Sweep by Jah'ir Edwards. Kaleb Austin and Adrien Felton added to the ground game with punishing runs that helped control the clock. The Panthers offense moved the ball well, but unfortunately they couldn’t capitalize inside the red zone.
On defense, the Panthers forced several turnovers with fumble recoveries from Maykil Najeeb, Adrien Felton, and Roman Godboldo. Inside linebackers, Jahir Edward’s, Adrien Felton, Jonah Riddle and Alex Loginow led the team in tackles. While the Panthers managed to shut down Clintondale’s running game, a few costly big plays through the air led to Clintondale’s three scores.
Looking ahead, the Panthers are focused on bouncing back as they enter the second half of the season. Their next game is scheduled for Tuesday, October 15, 2024 - against Warren Woods Middle School at Lamphere High School, with kickoff at 4:30 p.m.
