Name: Lisa Ernest
Years I’ve been coaching this sport: I have been involved with Cheer my whole life it seems, but I have been coaching consistently for 20 years
Playing experience: I Cheered for 5 years and have done gymnastics for 15 years.
I coach because I love Cheer, tumbling and stunting. My favorite is celebrating with a player, seeing the hard work they put in to pay off, how accomplished they feel when they master a skill or Stunt is by far my favorite. I love the fun way they look at life. It keeps me young!
My overall coaching philosophy: I consider building the character of the cheerleader just as important as developing their skills. I will teach my cheerleaders through my words and actions the values of respect, resilience, empathy, teamwork and sportsmanship that will stay with them long after they have moved up to high school.
